Hillstone Networks released a new and improved version of the Hillstone Web Application Firewall (WAF), designed for use by integrators and ISPs that host Internet services for their clients.

Hillstone Web Application Firewall (WAF) is a security appliance designed to protect web applications from various types of cyber threats and attacks. The WAF acts as a staging post between web applications and the Internet, monitoring network traffic and identifying potentially dangerous activities. Its main objective is to protect web applications from various attacks such as SQL injection, cross-site scripting (XSS), cross-site request forgery (CSRF) and others.

Hillstone WAF uses advanced detection mechanisms and security policies to identify and block potentially malicious traffic. This includes analyzing web requests and responses, monitoring user activity, and applying security policies. This protects web applications and sensitive data from misuse and attacks.

ENHANCED FEATURES:

Advanced Detection Capabilities: In this new version of Hillstone WAF, we bring a transparent inspection feature that greatly facilitates security inspection of traffic in Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) networks. This innovation enhances MPLS packet monitoring and improves the security capabilities of MPLS VPNs. In addition, we have enhanced the site security protocols to record traffic that is not considered malicious. This enhances the ability to analyze zero-day attacks and attacks that manage to evade detection by WAF.

Improved operational efficiency: the new version of Hillstone WAF comes with enhanced certificate chain configuration integrity verification functionality for HTTPS web servers. This innovation allows for easier identification and resolution of issues associated with incomplete certificate chains, increasing the efficiency of operational troubleshooting. Additionally, a one-click proof of concept (PoC) tool has been added, enabling the rapid implementation of a global access control policy to easily capture and store all traffic. This new feature facilitates comprehensive monitoring of network traffic and supports more efficient analysis during proof of concept testing.
