Hillstone CloudEdge provides advanced security services across L2-7 as well as core firewall capabilities for public and private clouds. It can be deployed for Cloud Management Platforms (CMPs) as "Firewall as a Service" for multi-tenant solutions in virtual environments. CloudEdge shares core technology with the Hillstone Next-Generation Firewall (NGFW) and provides an equally robust set of security features. Security administrators can quickly provision and deploy CloudEdge to instantly protect virtual environments. CloudEdge identifies and prevents potential threats while providing control over applications, users and user groups. Policies and restrictions can be defined in multiple levels of rules for critical applications as limiting or outright blocking malicious applications or code. Routing and bandwidth control rules can be created for specific users, user groups, time periods, or in relation to application characteristics. CloudEdge provides independent management and remote access for each user or multi-user virtual cloud environments. CloudEdge supports major hypervisor technologies including KVM, Xen, Hyper-V, VMware ESXi, etc. It also integrates and supports CMPs such as Amazon Web Service (AWS), Microsoft Azure, AliCloud, Openstack and VMware vCenter.
